Are you feeling trapped emotions that you can’t quite pinpoint? Or finding it difficult to move forward, feeling that something isn’t quite right? Here is one way you can try to uncover the emotions that you need to let go of. Sometimes you might need to do this a few times before you get really deep into the real underlining emotion being buried inside.

Firstly you need to find some time to yourself without distractions.

I find that walking in nature by myself, is a good way to clear out my mind from the day to day things that get scattered around my brain. The ‘what am I making for dinner?’ ‘What plans have the kids got for this week?’ ‘Has the dog been fed?’ Etc.

When your mind is clear, find somewhere to sit where you feel at peace. Sometimes just having a clear mind can bring up emotions that you have forgotten about, if they come up, acknowledge them and tell yourself its ok to let them go. If nothing comes up, that’s ok. Some emotions are buried deep inside because it’s hard to feel those deep feelings.

I have a journal that lives in my walking bag, in fact I have a spare journal in my handbag for times I’m out and I get inspired to write down my thoughts and feelings.

If you’re feeling ready to take a deep delve then get out your journal and ask yourself the following questions, and really think about what feelings come up for you.
