The health of our skin doesn’t necessarily mean the products we use externally. These help massively and I’m a firm believer of looking after yourself, and taking that time for a little self care. I personally love to do a weekly facemask. However I’m talking about how what we eat can help the health of our skin, can calm down inflame acne and help make you glow from within.There are some key nutrients that can aid the health of your skin. Adding these to your diet wont be wont be like taking a magic pill, it is a slow steady pace that over time you will notice that your skin is looking much healthier and less irritated or flared.


Firstly lets take a look at something we all know and hear about, water. Hydration is key healthier looking skin. Water is essential for keeping our body run in the way it does. In terms of skincare, water helps to reduce wrinkles, improves complexion, and reduces puffiness.


Vitamin E is a fat-soluble nutrient with anti-inflammatory properties and is essential for skincare. Vitamin E rich foods include salmon, sunflower seeds, almonds, butternut squash, and avocado.


Omega 3 fatty acids are beneficial as an anti-inflammatory, which helps to reduce acne and skin conditions such as eczema. Oily fish is your best source of omega 3 fatty acids, if you are vegan or vegetarian then use supplements.

Tomatoes are rich in a compound called lycopene, which is considered beneficial for skin health.


Beta carotene is what makes the red and range pigment in foods such as butternut squash, carrots, and red peppers. It is a powerful antioxidant and helps maintain the health and appearance of the skin.
